He and I were going out to dinner in the historic town of Ashland,
Virginia. As we were walking along the cobble-stone streets, it started
to snow. We took cover on the site of a 1920's era train station which
is now a museum. A historic interpreter costumed as a period Western
Union Telegram delivery man was walking past announcing a telegram.
To my surprise, he was calling my name! When I received the telegram,
the message was "will you marry me?" Of course I said YES!

We were opening presents on Christmas with my family.
I opened one from him - a silver goblet engraved with "Will you
marry me?" At our wedding reception, he will hold that one for
the toast and I will hold one that says "Yes!"

I ordered a Vermont Teddy Bear (large stuffed bear made to order)
and had the bear personalized. I had the Vermont Teddy Bear Company
embroider on the back of the bear's jacket "Will You Marry Me?"
The bear was shipped to her place of work for her birthday. She opened
the box and thought all she had gotten was this cute teddy bear for
her birthday. She was busy looking at all the details that the Vermont
Teddy Bears have when she came across the back of the jacket, read
what it said and let out a scream! I tracked the bear's shipment till
it was delivered via the internet. I then got the call I wanted to
hear. She called and all she said was "YES". Jeff

We both worked at a ski resort. I left clues for her throughout
the day directing her to check her e-mail at a certain time, look
in a particular drawer, etc. Each clue lead to another clue. Finally,
that afternoon, she was supposed to go read the electronic "ski
conditions" message board at an exact time. One message scrolled
across saying "Will you marry me?" Brian S, Wintergreen,

We were taking a hike along a trail in the mountains. We came upon
a wooden observation deck that looked out over this fantastic view
of the Shenandoah Valley. There was a small round table and 2 chairs
on the deck and a champagne bucket with a bottle of champagne on the
table. I thought this must be someone's private property or something.
Then he asked me to sit down at the table and he pulled out two glasses.
To my astonishment, he opened the champagne bottle and began to fill
the glasses. I was still in shock when he explained that we were here
for a purpose and he asked me to be his wife. How could I not say
yes? S. Kilpatrick - Richmond, Va. |
