My career has taken me along a very rewarding path of recreation, tourism, and public relations which has been wonderfully suitable. In November, 2000, the Circuit Court Judge of Nelson County, Virginia appointed me a Marriage Celebrant. Since then, I have performed over 800 lovely weddings in all kinds of different styles and settings ranging from elopements to large formal weddings. I have been fortunate to develop certain specific skills that help me contribute more to the wedding service: writing, public speaking, photography, and choreography. These traits have enabled me to provide a higher level of service to my client couples A few years ago I became certified as a Wedding Planner and have studied additional wedding topics such as wedding etiquette, location siting, floral design, catering, transportation, attire, ethnic & specialty weddings, photography, etc. With this background, I am able to offer my clients additional consulting services with a broader knowledge of the entire wedding event. The overlook was so beautiful….what a pretty area. It was just

I
grew up in the wedding business and have always loved it. My parents owned
a jewelry store in a small town and carried engagement rings, wedding
china, silverware, crystal, etc. They also rented out crystal punchbowls
and plates for wedding receptions. Whenever there was a wedding in the
town, my whole family pitched in with enthusiasm and excitement. As a
youngster, my job was wrapping the wedding presents and helping my mother
deliver them to the bride’s home. This was much better than my sister’s
job of polishing the merchandise in the showcases. In the 1950s my father’s
slogan was “when in love…see Love.” That was so embarrassing
to me at the time, but now I think he was pretty clever.
