Where do we get a marriage license?
To be married in Virginia, you must first get your license in Virginia at any Circuit Court Clerk's office. They are open Monday through Friday - click here to see a list of all the courts in Virginia, then look for the city or county nearest you. (Note that after your wedding, if you want to have a certified copy of your completed marriage license, you will need to call the Circuit Court and request one. They usually charge a $3 fee for this.)
